Game Information
The low-down on one of the most original and fun game ideas for a long time...

With Elixir Studio's first title, Republic, a reputation for originality and technical mastery was born. Since then, Elixir has channeled its collective energies into developing a fun and exciting idea of a game; one that was very popular at release.

Well then... what is Evil Genius? To start with, let's see what the Elixir blurb says:

In this strategy / simulation game created by Elixir Studios, the player assumes the role of an evil mastermind bent on achieving global domination through the construction of the ultimate doomsday device. Build a secret base, gain infamy and notoriety by completing daring missions, repel the forces of justice in real-time combat and develop evil super weapons to complete a nefarious master plan. Evil Genius is a tongue-in-cheek take on the 60's spy thriller genre offering the player the chance to play the villain himself and control a secret island fortress complete with powerful henchmen, loyal minions and a wide range of hilarious gizmos, gadgets and traps.

If that isn't enough, why not have a browse through just a few of the key features of the game:

  • Master all five evil gameplay elements: base building, real-time combat, minion training, techno-research, and mission deployment
  • Manage your minions as you train them to develop evil technology and super-weapons
  • Build your secret base and defend it against attacks by obnoxious action heroes and government agents in real time
  • Find and recruit talented henchmen from a variety of exotic locations; dispatch agents to war zones in search of talent, scour universities for insane scientists and launch prison breaks to free captured henchmen
  • Undertake numerous missions to increase your power and notoriety, including stealing the Eiffel Tower, kidnapping pop stars, and procuring priceless treasures and art

Put it this way. Evil Genius is fun, engaging, humerous, technically impressive and addictive. Use the handy links on your left and browse through the screenshot collections, information about rooms, traps and characters... even download a couple of videos from our links to FilePlanet. Within minutes you'll be hooked.

Evil Genius has been described as having the traits of many other games whilst being wonderfully original at the same time. Well... what else would you expect from Demis Hassabis, a man who has worked on Black and White and Theme Park as well as Evil Genius' predecessor, Republic? Looking at the game, shades of Theme Park, Theme Hospital and definitely Dungeon Keeper can be seen. And these are all damn good games, so it's hardly a bad thing.

Lastly, the proof that this game is cool is simple. This website exists. This webmaster has playtested Evil Genius full time for a long period of time. I don't create a website every time I play a game...

Enjoy the site... and now that it's out, be sure to enjoy the game. You can also grab the demo (great fun) and peek at the box art.
